Communities Heal When Families Know
No family should face Alzheimer's or dementia without education, support, and a community that cares. This is where LBM Awareness Foundation puts that promise into practice, for the person living with memory loss, and for the caregiver standing beside them.
"Awareness creates hope. Hope changes everything."
Signs Worth Paying Attention To
Memory changes are common as we age but some changes are worth a closer look. This is general awareness information, not a diagnosis.
Memory loss that disrupts daily life
Forgetting recently learned information, important dates, or asking for the same information repeatedly.
Difficulty with familiar tasks
Trouble completing everyday tasks at home, work, or leisure, including things once done without a second thought.
Confusion with time or place
Losing track of dates, seasons, or the passage of time; forgetting where they are or how they got there.
Withdrawal from work or social activities
Pulling away from hobbies, social engagements, or family gatherings they once looked forward to.
Changes in mood or personality
Becoming confused, suspicious, fearful, or anxious in situations that didn't previously trigger these feelings.
Challenges with planning or problem-solving
Difficulty following a familiar recipe, keeping track of monthly bills, or concentrating on a task that takes longer than it used to.
If you're noticing these changes in yourself or someone you love, you don't have to figure out what it means alone. Reach out to us or a healthcare provider because early conversations lead to better support.
You Are Not Alone in This
Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia is one of the hardest, most selfless things a person can do, and it can also be isolating. The exhaustion, the grief, the guilt, the moments you don't know if you're doing enough: all of it is real, and none of it means you're failing.
LBM Awareness Foundation exists to make sure caregivers in our community have somewhere to turn for education, for connection, and for the reminder that taking care of yourself is part of taking care of them.
